Birthdays

Birthdays are special occasions in our classroom. We celebrate each child's birthday in school. Weekend and summer birthdays included. If your child has a summer birthday I will send a note home to let you know when we'll be celebrating your child's birthday.

Parents may send an individual treat for each student to enjoy. On their special day, the birthday child will be "Student of the day." We always sing and eat our treat in the afternoon due to the fact that we have snack in the morning. The child will receive a special birthday prize.

Lunch

Tickets can be purchased on Thursday & Friday. If you buy hot lunch, milk is included. You can purchase a milk ticket, however, to go with a lunch your child brings to school. You can purchase lunch tickets from week to week or you can purchase tickets a month at a time.

Snack

Each day in first grade we have a short snack time. It's usually a working snack. Please do not send in milk or juice as part of their snack. We will get a drink from the water fountain in the classroom.

Half-Day Snack Procedure

Please send in a bigger snack on half days because the kids get hungry around their regularly scheduled lunch time. Sending in a bigger snack will help curb their appetite until they're dismissed at 12:30.
